The Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education currently offers the following scholarships.
Tony Molinaro was an exceptional special education teacher and administrator who was the first recipient of the G-CASE Lillie N. Moncus Award for Special Education Administrator of the Year. He died unexpectedly at a relatively young age. In his honor, a scholarship fund was established to enable special educators, especially special education administrators, to attend the International Council for Exceptional Children Annual Convention. Each year two $1,000 scholarships are available for special education administrators, with a preference for at least one of the awards being given to a beginning special education administrator in the first 5 years of service. Recipients of this award must be members of G-CASE, CASE and CEC.
- Must be a current CEC, CASE and G-CASE. member
- Must be currently employed as a special education teacher, or administrator.
Recipients must write an article for the G-CASE newsletter upon return and provide documentation of expenses totaling at least $1000, including documentation of registration for the CEC Convention before reimbursement is given.

- Must include one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher or administrator who can address the applicant’s teaching and leadership skills.
- The letter of recommendation must include an endorsement by a current G-CASE member.
- Completed applications must be post-marked by January 14, 2011
Recipients will be notified the week of February 7, 2011

Theodore Smith devoted his life to education as a teacher and administrator with more than 50 years of service. This award allows special education teachers or special education paraprofessionals to continue their pursuit of excellence with two scholarships of $1,000. In addition to the $1,000 for higher education, paraprofessionals who are not CEC members will receive a free CEC membership.
- Must be a current CEC member, paraprofessionals are exempt from this requirement.
- Must be pursuing a higher degree or added certification to meet the standards for highly qualified in special education
- Must be currently employed in a special education teaching position or as a special education paraprofessional with 1 or more year of experience and have a desire to remain in the profession of education with exceptional students
- Recipients will provide documentation of how the scholarship was dispersed.
- Complete application form
- Must include one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher or administrator that can address your team spirit and teaching skills.
- The letter of recommendation must include an endorsement by a current G-CASE member.
- Documentation of acceptance into a degree program within the State of Georgia.
- Copy of most recent transcript and grade report.
- Completed application must be post-marked by January 14, 2011
- Awards will be made the week of February 7, 2011
