Goal 1:
Promote and retain membership; improve responsiveness to
members.

DBOD will share
knowledge with districts through meetings and electronic
opportunities.

representative of G-CASE from outside the district will promote
membership at the district meetings.

The DBOD
will continue utilization of e-mail “one-stop shop” membership,
website and brochure.

Collaborate
with DBOD and GLRS on efforts designed to support members and to
promote access to G-CASE resources.
- Encourage
continued participation of retirees through provision of
services and opportunities for committee involvement.

Goal 2: Provide aspiring and current
leaders continuing education

Survey for burning issues.

Communicate with DOE on
current topics.

Develop topics from
legislative and rule changes.

membership

Explore alternative delivery
models and settings.

Review attendance
requirements of, and participation by, mentors.

Director Academy and open it to all veteran directors.

Aspiring Leaders Academy.

leaders under GAEL umbrella in developing, presenting, and

Goal 3:
Educate and involve the membership to work toward G-CASE goals
to impact the legislative process, state board rules, policies
and procedures.

Develop an understanding of
legislative procedures among the membership.

Utilize building contacts.

Increase membership feedback
to establish a unified voice.

Develop an understanding of
the process for state rule adoption.

Create a protocol for
individuals and groups to impact the process.

Develop relationships with
state board members.

Present a unified voice in
communication with SBOE members to affect rules creation and
amendments through position

letters, meeting
presentations and individual contacts.

Provide easy access for
contacts.

Post issues of concern
regarding rules changes that call for membership’s imminent

the process for developing DOE guidance and suggestions on SBOE
rules.

Provide access to rules,
guidance and procedures, using a website link.

Review rules, guidance and
suggestions to evaluate impact on student achievement and system
compliance.

Increase awareness of the
positions of the elected officials and candidates for office.

Goal 4:
Provide publication and communication tools including timely
information, recognition of achievements, promotion of
professional learning and warehousing of resources

Add a website link to a
Resource Center.

Investigate the feasibility
of developing a secure area for membership only.

The communications committee
will collaborate with other committees to obtain the survey.

The communications committee
will gather the survey data.

The communications committee
will publish and distribute the survey results.

Establish a
procedure/process for notifying Communications Committee of
awards, scholarships, achievements, conferences, etc.

Formalize the practice into
a procedure for notifying the Communications Committee and
maintain it so urgent issues may be communicated.

A Planning meeting will be
held with the Professional Learning Committee to determine
contents of and to make contacts with authors of potential
articles for newsletters.

Timelines for newsletter
publication dates will be set.

Initiatives will be
communicated through GAEL Board meetings and, in turn, other
organizations’ initiatives will be communicated to G-CASE
membership.

Goal 5:
Examine the organizational structure and recommend improvements
to the Executive Board

Analyze current duties and
responsibilities of all committees.

Develop a job description
for an Executive Director.

Analyze current roles and
responsibilities of the DBOD.

Prepare constitutional
changes impacted by structural changes.

Streamline the process for
nominations for awards and applications for scholarships.

Investigate adding
additional areas of award/scholarships.

Develop a
promotional/advertisement campaign for awards/scholarships.
-
Investigate the impact of
adding discounts for different groups.
